More than 2m barrels of crude oil swapped to Iranian refineries
A senior energy official said on Saturday that since past seven months 2.2 million barrels of crude oil have been swapped from littoral states of the Caspian Sea and unloaded in Neka Oil Terminal before being transferred to Tehran and Tabriz oil refineries.
Deputy Head of Oil Pipelines and Communication of North Region for operational affairs Shirafkan Qorbani noted that the swap operation resumed after a halt of almost 8 years.
Through the swap operation, Iran unloaded crude oil of countries like Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in Neka Oil Terminal and in exchange for delivery of oil to customers in southern terminals.
Qorbani told Is that more than 50 ships docked in Neka Oil Terminal to deliver their crude oil.
