Official: Iran inks 70 lease contracts for oil tankers in post-JCPOA
Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Tanker Company (NIOTC) Cyrus Kian Erthi announced on Tuesday that in post-JCPOA era more than 70 contracts on renting Iran's oil tankers were inked by big foreign companies.
He said that these companies were mainly European and Asian.
Kian Erthi pointed to impacts of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on NIOTC and said that it was a crucial influence on the company.
Following the elimination of imposed sanctions, Iranian oil tankers are sailing in high seas, now.
The official also announced that the renovation of NIOTC fleet by using domestic capacities.
The NIOTC was founded in 1955 and now owns a fleet by 15.5 million tons capacity and is the largest oil tanker firm in the world.
