Iran oil output nearing 4m bpd: Oil official
Deputy for Engineering and Development Affairs of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Gholam-Reza Manouchehri has announced that the country is now producing daily 3.9 million barrels of oil.
Manouchehri made the announcement here on Monday evening on the sidelines of his visit to the 13th edition of Kish International Energy Exhibition that started work in this southern Iranian Island on Jan 9 with participation of 180 domestic and foreign companies.
About the ceding of the development of second phases of Yadavaran and North Azadegan oil fields to the Chinese companies, Manouchehri told reporters that 'Anyhow, they are ready to attend our future bid (for the oil fields.)'
He further noted that Iran has signed agreements with five international companies on Azadegan development.
In late December, Manouchehri said that Iran is to invite several international tenders for its Yadavaran and North Azadegan oil fields.
The Chinese companies should apply according to Iran's new petroleum contracts, the official added.
According to reports, the Chinese companies are responsible for developing the first phases of the two Iranian oil fields, but their performances have come under criticism, persuading Iranian officials to reconsider ceding the development of Yadavaran and North Azadegan oil fields to them again.
