"Given the rise of Iran's gas condensate production and export from South Pars, IOTC has launched its fourth SBM in the gas field," Pirouz Mousavi said.

IOTC is responsible for exporting all gas condensate produced in South Pars gas field.

Mousavi said once the laboratory of Site II of the condensate export terminal is launched in Assalouyeh, south of Iran, the county will be equipped by the state-of-the-art facilities for condensate exports.

He said IOTC can continue exporting gas condensate under the harshest climatic conditions.

South Korea, Japan, China, India and recently Turkey are buyers of Iran’s oil and gas condensate as the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum is trying to win back its traditional customers.

An SBM (also known as single-point mooring) is a loading buoy anchored offshore, that serves as a mooring point and interconnect for tankers loading or offloading gas or liquid products.

SPMs are the link between geostatic subsea manifold connections and weathervaning tankers. They are capable of handling any size ship, even very large crude carriers (VLCC) where no alternative facility is available.
