Record Berthing of 10 Tankers in Kharg Island
Director of Iran Oil Terminals Company (IOTCO) Pirouz Mousavi says record of oil tankers' berthing in Kharg Terminal is broken as concurrently 10 oil tankers have berthed in the terminal this year.
Mousavi said with renovation of the biggest oil terminal of Iran and implementation of development projects there, the capability of oil tankers to berth in Kharg oil terminals' jetty has increased to 10 from three.
The IOTCO website quoted Mousavi as saying on the sidelines of the visit of the Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani to the area that very important steps have been taken for development of the infrastructures of Iranian oil industry.
He referred to renovation of jetties for export of Iranian oil and said acceleration of the operations for reserving, berthing, loading and delivery of crude oil to the Asian and European customers of Iran has been facilitated.
"This year we hit the record of concurrent berthing of 10 oil tankers and export of 7.1 million barrels per day oil."
