Speaking with IOTCO , Seyyed Priouz Mousavi said that engineering studies of Jusk Oil Terminal was over and construction of the terminal, as the second largest oil terminal in the country, would embark on after allocating needed budget.
He added building the terminal would directly create jobs for approximately 5 thousand people.
The official also stated four oil tanks were being under construction at Kharg Island, south Iran, that upon completion will raise oil storage capacity at the Kharg Oil Terminal by four million barrels. He continued: construction of these tanks is expected to be over late this Iranian calendar year, in February or March 2014.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mousavi said that expanding IOTC’s maritime fleet is high on agenda adding the company has ordered building two tugboat to domestic companies.
Mousavi noted that last year 900 oil tankers ducked in oil terminals of the country for uploading or offloading 5500 oil cargos.
He said: Neka oil terminal in Caspian Sea, north Iran, was one of the most up to date oil terminals in the world that is used for oil swap with Caspian Sea littoral states.
